Registration is now closed for the LibraryLinkNJ Spring Membership Meeting on Thursday, June 8 at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, Middlesex County. If you can’t attend personally, you can still participate in the business meeting and the keynote presentation by ALA President-Elect Loida Garcia-Febo.

Audio of the business meeting will be provided via Adobe Connect (our webinar software). Audio and video of the keynote talk will be provided by Facebook Live Video.

Outside the Lines

Registration to participate in Outside The Lines, an annual international celebration of libraries doing wonderful things in their communities, is open. Outside the Lines is scheduled for the week of September 10, 2017 and the website provides many support and education materials for participating libraries to use as they plan their events.

If you and your colleagues are already interested in participating, registering is easy. The requirements are simple and are likely in line with what you’re doing already with library programs and events. The organizers ask that participating libraries host at least one event or campaign that:

  • Gets people thinking – and talking – about libraries in a different way.
  • Showcases the library out in the community as well as in the library.
  • Highlights how your library is relevant to people’s lives.
  • Represents your local community.
  • Is active versus passive – gets people engaged.
  • Is extraordinary and unexpected.
  • Most importantly, is fun!

New Jersey Public Library Directors' Summit

The New Jersey State Library and LibraryLinkNJ, The New Jersey Library Cooperative, have partnered to sponsor the second Public Library Directors’ Summit on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at the Holiday Inn in East Windsor.

This one-day event will provide experienced public library directors with best practices and the latest developments in the areas of library law and other public library topics.

Watch for our participant survey in June! We want your input on the topics and issues you would like to learn about most. Help us create a meaningful, practical day of learning, discussion and connection that has immediate application to your work.

  • Audience: New Jersey Public Library Directors
  • Date: Tuesday, October 24, 2017
  • Time: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Coffee and registration from 9:00 to 9:30 am. Program begins promptly at 9:30.
  • Location: Holiday Inn in East Windsor, the same convenient location as the first Summit held in 2015.
  • Program fee: $50
  • Registration: The event registration will open Tuesday, August 22, 2017 on Eventbrite.
    Payment by credit card is preferred but there will be an option for payment by check/purchase order.
