East Brunswick Public Library was featured in a recent issue of American Libraries for their exemplary work in the area of health information literacy. After creating a health information portal in 2009, EBPL won a $15,000 grant from the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Mid-Atlantic Region (NN/LM MAR) and have expanded the scope and reach of their “Just For the Health of It” program to serve information seekers in Arabic, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, and Russian.

Colleagues at eight New Jersey public libraries (including one bookmobile) have won Curiosity Creates Grants from The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC). The winning libraries, which will use their funding to establish creativity-based programming for children, are:

  • Gloucester County Library System -- Mullica Hill Branch
  • Livingston Public Library
  • New Brunswick Free Public Library
  • North Plainfield Memorial Library
  • Ocean County Library
  • Piscataway Public Library
  • Salem County Bookmobile Library
  • Woodbury Public Library

Congratulations to all of our colleagues, who do so much every day to serve their communities at such a high level. You make us all proud!
