Technology Coordinator | March 8, 2024 | Job Classification: Technology Coordinator, FT Primary Department: Adult Services The Ridgewood Library is seeking an experienced, customer service-oriented professional to work with library management to plan, develop, enhance, and maintain the technology systems to support library services. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in developing new library programs to serve the community. Principal Responsibilities:
The above are typical tasks regularly performed but additional related tasks requiring equivalent skills and responsibilities may be performed as service requirements change. Part-Time Reference Librarian - Whippanong Library | March 5, 2024 | The Whippanong Library in Whippany, NJ, seeks a tech-savvy, customer service-oriented, part-time librarian to join its team. The Library serves the community of Hanover Township which includes the towns of Whippany and Cedar Knolls. The part-time Reference Librarian will provide reference, computer help, and other library services for the general public. Duties will include: - Assists patrons in finding print and non-print material - Assists patrons in using internet, databases, other digital resources, and Microsoft Office - Answers reference questions on a wide range of topics and difficulty - Identifies technology needs and keeps up-to-date with current technology - Prepares and posts publicity for programs and events on monthly eblasts, library social media, library event webpage, town community calendar. Includes sending publicity to newspapers and schools. - Maintains website and social media sites. - Provides readers advisory for patrons - Provides occasional back-up at the Circulation Desk - Performs additional duties as assigned Position will include up to two evenings a week and two Saturdays a month with approximately 25 hours a week. Qualifications include MLS or MLIS degree and a Professional Librarian’s Certificate and at least five years professional library experience. Must have high degree of knowledge of Microsoft Office and social media. Familiarity with Word Press and Polaris Leap system is a plus.
