Hello! I am the Regional Services Coordinator at the Holston River Regional Library, a branch of the Tennessee State Library & Archives that provides services to public libraries in the ten counties in northeast Tennessee. I provide professional consultation to library trustees and staff, continuing education opportunities to meet professional development needs, and grant monitoring and e-rate assistance. At the age of 15, my first job was working as a page in the Youth Services Department at the Johnson City Public Library. I earned my Master's in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois in 2010 after earning my bachelor's degree in English literature and psychology from the University of Tennessee in 2007. During my graduate work, I was a GA at the GSLIS IT Help Desk and at the UIUC Rare Book and Manuscript Library. After graduation, I returned to the Johnson City Public Library in 2013 as a reference librarian in the Adult Services Department. I served as interim director in 2016-2017 and was promoted to Adult Services Department Head in 2020, then to Assistant Director of User Services in 2023. From 2024-2025, I worked at the Kingsport Public Library providing adult programs and reference, and I assisted with the planning and beginning stages of a relocation and renovation project before joining the staff at the Regional Library System. I have served as a member of the Tenn-Share Conference Committee, a statewide consortium. I am currently a member of the Tenn-Share Marketing Committee and the TSLA liaison of the Tenn-Share Committee. I have also been a reader for the Tennessee State Book Award in Poetry. Outside of work, I have a variety of interests, including gardening, knitting, hiking, trying new recipes, and spending time with family and friends.
