New Jersey Libraries-On-The-Go at the Membership Meeting |
The true highlight of any Membership Meeting is the opportunity to network and catch up with colleagues we may only see face-to-face a few times a year. The three simultaneous membership meetings -- held at Passaic Community College, Rutgers University, and Rowan University on December 9 -- were no exception.
The meeting’s major announcement was New Jersey Libraries-On-The-Go, the Cooperative’s Mobile Pilot Project for FY2012, unveiled by Executive Director Cheryl O’Connor and Assistant Director Joanne Roukens. NJ Libraries-On-The-Go is aimed at helping our public, academic and school libraries develop and implement robust mobile strategies to reach their customers, through mobile websites and apps for smartphones and tablets.
We are posting links germane to the project to our Twitter account and Facebook wall, and have created a Twitter hashtag to pull all tweets from us and our followers together: #NJlibsonthego. We hope you will join in the conversation in these social networks, too!

Full details of the project, including an FAQ page to answer member questions, are available on our website. Please send all questions regarding NJ Libraries-On-The-Go to Program Coordinator Sophie Brookover.

NJASL-LibraryLinkNJ Advocacy Partnership |
Fostered by the Advocacy, Collaboration and Partnership goal area of the Cooperative’s strategic plan, LibraryLinkNJ has a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an Advocacy Partnership with the New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL). The purpose is for LibraryLinkNJ to help NJASL advance the strategic use and impact of the NJ Study of School Libraries conducted by the Center for International Scholarship in School Libraries (CISSL). The MOU timeframe calls for advocacy development and implementation in FY12 with a $20,000 subsidy approved by the Executive Board at their November meeting. LibraryLinkNJ Executive Director Cheryl O’Connor will collaborate with NJASL President Fran King and the NJASL Board of Trustees on this initiative.
