Virtual Visit: Fantasy Worlds with Jen Calonita, Joshua Levy, and Jamar Perry

Join us for a conversation with authors Jen Calonita, Joshua Levy, and Jamar Perry. They will share about their forthcoming books, and all attendees will be eligible for a chance to win a prize pack of the authors' previous books!

  • Jen Calonita is the New York Times and USA Today-bestselling author of more than thirty books for teens and middle grade. She has written several series including the best-selling Fairy Tale Reform School and books in Disney’s New York Times best-selling A Twisted Tale series. Jen can be found in New York with her husband, two boys, and a feisty chihuahua named Ben Kenobi. When she isn’t writing, she can be found traveling or dreaming about visiting Disney Parks.
  • Joshua S. Levy is the author of several middle grade novels: Seventh Grade Vs. The Galaxy and its sequels (Eighth Grade Vs. The Machines and Last Summer In Outer Space, all from Lerner/Carolrhoda), as well as The Jake Show, released in May 2023 (from HarperCollins/Katherine Tegen Books). Up next: Finn and Ezra’s Bar Mitzvah Time Loop (Harper/Katherine Tegen Books) and an anthology for which he is co-editor, On All Other Nights (Abrams/Amulet), both releasing in 2024. 
  • Dr. Jamar J. Perry is the author of the middle grade fantasy series, Cameron Battle. He attended Berea College in Berea, KY, majoring in psychology and English literature and Education. After graduation, Dr. Perry became a middle school teacher in the Washington, D.C. area, hoping to instruct the next generation of scholars, thinkers, and writers. His research interests and writing currently focus on Black boys, the history of traditional and Black masculinity in America, and racial literacy.

Moderator George Jreije is the Lebanese American author of the Shad Hadid children's fantasy series as well as the upcoming graphic novel, Tarik’s Bazaar Adventure, and more with HarperCollins. He has also published short stories with UNICEF. Currently, George is a Creative Writing teacher with Gotham Writers Workshop and a freelance book editor. He was the author-in-residence for the Concord Library and a featured speaker for WriteHive, WorldCon, SCBWI, and the Highlights Foundation. When not writing, George visits schools to spread his love of books!
