Medical Librarian-Medical Library (Full Time, Days)

The Medical Librarian is an essential position, as it provides library servcies for SBMC, JCMC and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway campuses. The Medical Librarian represents the Medical Library by participating in library initiatives and attendance at committee meetings. The Medical Librarian participates in the planning, organizing, and evaluation of the research-related needs of the medical and hospital staff. Assists in directing and supervising technical staff. Responsibilities include accessing medical, nursing and other healthcare information through computer databases and other sources, responding to reference and literature search questions, assisting with collection development, teaching searching and other skills to residents, medical students and to other SBMC, JCMC and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Rahway staff, cataloging materials, creation of user guides to aid library users, contributing items to the library newsletter, and weeding the collection.
Education:
MLS/MLIS degree from an accredited school of library sciences required.
Reguirements:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a medical and/or shcool or nursing library
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
