Part Time Adult Services Librarian at Pequannock Library

The Pequannock Township Public Library has an opening for an exciting opportunity in our Adult Services department. Our well-loved and very busy library is located in a suburban community. 

We’re seeking a forward thinking, enthusiastic, customer service oriented person who thrives in a collaborative environment, to work at our Adult Services information desk.   The right candidate will have public library experience and be familiar with current technologies. Tasks include covering the Adult Services Desk, assisting with adult programming, and assisting with public relations responsibilities.  Plus, other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications include an MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited institution and a NJ Professional Librarian Certification or 3 years’ experience in a public library setting. We will also consider a student currently enrolled in an ALA accredited MLIS program. Candidates must have the ability to work effectively with the public and the staff. Experience with Polaris ILS system is a plus. Preference will be given to someone with adult programming experience and digital marketing skills.   

The schedule includes Monday 3-9, Wednesday 2-6, Thursday 4-8 and approximately one Saturday per month (14 hours per week). The salary is $31.84 per hour for an MLS/MLIS applicant; and $22.00 per hour for a non MLS/MLIS applicant.
