Library Programmers Jamboree: An Unconference
Princeton Public Library, 65 Witherspoon Street, Princeton NJ 08542
Event Materials
Event Description
LibraryLinkNJ and the Princeton Public Library are partnering to host an unconference for all staff at public and academic libraries who work on planning and providing public programs for adults. An unconference is organized, structured, and led by the people participating in it.
Offering a wide variety of public programs for adults is a core service for libraries of all sizes that creates space for community engagement, education and entertainment. Planning and providing programming for your community offers both great opportunities and many challenges. Join us for an interactive day with colleagues from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut where we’ll share the joys, and wonderful moments as well as the frustrations of this powerful, fun tool. In the process, we will exchange ideas to improve programs in libraries throughout the Mid-Atlantic.
Audience: All staff at public and academic libraries who work on planning and providing public programs for adults.
After participating in the Library Programmers Jamboree, you’ll be able to:
- Strengthen your professional network of fellow library staff who develop adult programs for their communities
- Expand your repertoire of programming possibilities based on best practices input from colleagues
- Share your own programming successes and get advice on how to address issues that are unique to programming staff
