Strategies for the Intergenerational Workplace

Currently, our library staff can make up four generations of individuals. This is four generations of people who have grown up with different values and ethics in the work environment. So what happens when we clash? When our communication styles are different? No generation is wrong. We just need to learn to adapt to each generation's style.

Through this interactive presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Communicate and create a healthy and respectful working environment.
  • Identify characteristics and gain a better understanding of the four generations
  • Provide tips and suggestions for overcoming generational differences
  • Value and harness the power of working with people representing a variety of backgrounds and perspectives in the library
