The Executive Board of LibraryLinkNJ has approved a new vendor for statewide library delivery starting on January 2, 2018: Expak Logistics is a national logistics company with experience providing delivery service to library consortia across the country, with depots in Edison, NJ and Philadelphia, PA.

We are working hard to make this transition as smooth as possible for your library. We will be sharing a number of timely updates about what you can expect during the transition and after.

First, to insure good service through the end of 2017, our current vendor, TForce (formerly Dynamex) asks that you do not comment or discuss this change with your current drivers.

We’d like to share with you some of the benefits of working with Expak Logistics.

Expak Logistics will provide the following standard Delivery Service upgrades:

  • Simplest of all, the delivery packaging will stay the same. You can continue to use the sealed plastic bags, zippered bags, and sealed boxes you’re used to
  • Package tracking at several points. You’ll be able to monitor your packages’ progress via Expak’s easy, internet-based software
  • Consistent delivery times, thanks to more efficiently-planned routes
  • Insurance of up to $100 per package (details will follow)
  • Superior record-keeping

During December, Expak will also provide:

  • Online training in how to use their labeling and tracking software
  • Information on your library’s new delivery route number and delivery times

These upgrades will require some work on the part of libraries using the Delivery Service, too. Here’s what you and your staff should prepare for.

Delivery staff at member libraries will need to:

  • Use a computer with Internet access and a printer to print packing labels
  • Use newly-printed packing labels for each package (these provide the unique tracking info)
  • Participate in online training, available throughout December

LibraryLinkNJ will keep you informed by sending periodic updates about the new delivery service through November, December and during our transition in January.
