Event Description
Topic: Skill-Sharing Conversation: D&D Programs for All Ages
Tabletop games are a mainstay for library programs—and for good reason. They offer opportunities for people of all ages to play and explore. Among the most games is Dungeons & Dragons, commonly referred to as D&D.
D&D is a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) in which players take on the roles of adventurers and go on epic quests. According to the American Library Association, "D&D is an outlet for creativity, encourages social interaction between people of diverse backgrounds, and fosters reading comprehension and critical thinking skills."
D&D has continued to grow in popularity over the years, but finding a place to play can be difficult, especially for new players who don’t know where to start. The library, as a familiar and safe space, can teach patrons of all ages about this hobby and provide a space to play.
Are you looking for offer D&D programs for adults or teens at your library? Feel free to join us as we talk about the appeal of D&D, and the values the game can instill in players of any age. Library staff of all types are welcome to join!
