Google Group Mailing List (Listserv):
You can share information, such as announcements or free giveaways, with our member institutions via our Google Group mailing list.

Job Opening Form:
If you want to post a job opening at your library/organization, please use the Job Posting Form on our website (user log-in required): https://librarylinknj.org/job-posting

  • Your job opening info will be posted on our Library Job Openings page: https://librarylinknj.org/jobs
  • When you save your posting, it will generate email notifications to all job opening email notification subscribers.
  • Please note: We are currently troubleshooting the email notification settings for our new Job Posting Form. In the meantime, we will manually send out job posting notifications in a daily digest via our mass mailing service until we confirm that the system generates email notifications properly.

Transitioning from Our Online Forum to a Google Group Mailing List (Listserv)

As we continuously strive to enhance our communication and interaction within our community, we want to share an important update regarding our new Google Group Mailing List and Job Posting Online Form.

Google Group Mailing List:

  • If you would like to share an announcement, except for job openings, with your colleagues at our member libraries/organizations, please email it directly via the Google Group mailing list: Email
  • A Gmail account is not required for you to make use of the mailing list. Simply send an email to the email address listed above.
  • Active LLNJ account holders who currently receive our announcement emails do not need to take any action; you are automatically subscribed to this Google Group mailing list.
  • We sent out a welcome message via this mailing list on Monday, September 23, 2024. If you haven’t received it, please ensure that our Google Group messages are not marked as spam in your inbox. If you need assistance, please use our Website Support Form
  • To unsubscribe from the new mailing list at any time, members can send an email to Email.
  • Have you unsubscribed but want to rejoin the mailing list? Please use our Website Support Form for assistance!
  • By posting to the mailing list, you are also agreeing to our Google Group mailing list guidelines and code of conduct.

  • If you want to post a job opening at your library/organization, please use our Job Posting Form, so that your job opening is listed on our Library Job Openings page: https://librarylinknj.org/jobs
  • The job openings page is open to the public. However, to post a job opening, you must log into your user account to use the Job Posting Form.
  • Please note: We have updated the email notification settings for our new Job Posting Form, but we've decided to continue sending job posting notifications in a daily digest via our mass mailing service. This daily digest seems to work well for our members, and it will reduce the number of email notifications you receive from us. If anything changes in the future, we will inform you in a timely manner. If you do not wish to receive the job posting notifications, please fill out our Website Support Form. Please note that unsubscribing from our mass mailing list will prevent you from receiving all of our email communications.
  • When you save your posting, it will generate email notifications to all job opening email notification subscribers. Active LLNJ account holders will be automatically subscribed to job opening notifications, and you can manage your notification settings by logging into your user account. Further instructions will be provided once the email notification settings are enabled.
  • If you posted a job opening in our retired online forums in the last four months, please note that we have kept them on our Library Job Openings list, except for those where the application deadline has already passed. If you posted a job opening at your library/organization and the position is still available but don’t see it on the job openings list, please use the Job Posting Form to repost.

Further details about this transition:
Over time, we have observed that the usage of our online forums has predominantly been for one-way information dissemination from forum authors to our membership. While this has served its purpose, we've also noted challenges with the efficiency of the forum's email notification system. Also, according to our Member Communication Preference Survey conducted in Fall 2023, more than 90% of respondents prefer to receive news and updates via email. After careful consideration, we have decided to transition from the online forums to a Google Group mailing list. This change aims to streamline our communications and ensure that important updates and information reach you more reliably.

The Google Group mailing list will serve as our primary means for our members to send out announcements such as conference and grant announcements, sharing resources, etc. This platform will allow for more effective and timely communication, ensuring that everyone stays informed and connected. Please note that we will use an online form on our website exclusively for job postings, so that your job posting can be open to everyone, beyond just the subscribers.

We understand that some members may have a keen interest in participating in active discussions on specific topics. We want to assure you that we are exploring options to provide dedicated online spaces for interest group forums in the future, should there be enough demand from our members. We encourage you to share your interest in such discussions with us, as your feedback is invaluable in shaping the direction of our community's communications.

What do I need to do to join this new Google Group mailing list and receive job opening email notifications? You don’t need to take any action. We will add the email address of everyone who has an active user account on our website. New users whose accounts are activated after this transition will be automatically subscribed to all email notifications.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we make this transition. Our goal is to foster a more connected and engaged community, and we believe this change is a step in the right direction.
