LibraryLinkNJ subsidizes the cost of each class to make high-quality, low-cost training available to staff of member libraries. Please pay registration fees promptly when requested.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel up to ten 10 business days before a scheduled class/event without penalty and receive a credit for another class or a full refund. If you cancel less than ten days before, you are responsible for payment. The only exception is if LibraryLinkNJ cancels the class/event.

In the event of a class cancellation, we will make every attempt to notify you directly at least 48 hours in advance. You may also call LibraryLinkNJ at 732-752-7720 after 7AM on the day of the class.

 Super Library Supervisor

Registration for the Super Library Supervisor Workshop Spring Series FY2023 will open at 7:00 AM on Monday, February 6.

This series of training workshops in supervisory skills has been serving the New Jersey library community for more than 20 years. This spring, our workshop series will be fully virtual, allowing participants to engage with the series from the safety and comfort of their own homes or libraries. 

Series Topics and Dates:

  • What it Means to be a Supervisor and Know Your Why, Motivating and Supporting Your Staff
    • ​Wednesday, March 29th, 10AM - 3PM
  • Personnel Documentation & Evaluation and HR Basics Every Supervisor Should Know
    • Wednesday, April 5th, 10AM - 3PM
  • Open & Honest Communication in the Workplace and Building Relationships & Resolving Staff Conflict 
    • Wednesday, April 12th, 10AM - 3PM
  • What Your Staff Aren't Telling You: Leading with Empathy and Running Successful Meetings 
    • Thursday, April 20th, 10AM - 3PM

Workshops will be conducted via Zoom. Login information and links will be shared with attendees prior to each workshop date. Each workshop date will include a scheduled 1 hour lunch break.

Target Audience:

  • Library staff who are currently supervisors and have less than five years of supervisory experience.
  • Participants MUST be actively working as a supervisor at the time the series begins.
  • More experienced supervisors are welcome, if this is their first supervisory training.

This is a series of 4 workshops. Participants are required to attend all 4 workshops.

Space is limited to 35 participants.  

Deadline: Registration will close on Friday, February 24th or when the limit has been reached, whichever comes first. We will accept up to 50 registrants. 35 participants will be chosen from this group by lottery.

Cost: $159, inclusive of all courses and digital copies of all course materials.

Registration Information

Super Library Supervisor is extremely popular and space is limited to 35 participants.

We will be using the same registration and lottery process implemented in previous years:

  • Registration will open at 7 AM on Monday, February 6, 2023. We will take up to 50 initial registrants through Friday, February 24, 2023.
  • Once we close registration, we will use a lottery process to select a final total of 35 workshop participants.
  • Registration only places you in the lottery. You will be notified after registration closes if you were successful or not in obtaining a place in the FY2023 Spring Series
  • Registering for the lottery commits you to attending all 4 workshops, if you are selected.

We will notify registrants as soon as possible with the results of the lottery.

Registration for the lottery is online only. Register online by using the link below. You can only register yourself and only register once.

You need a User Account to register. If you do not have a User Account, click here to create one. It can take up to 24-48 hours to have an account approved. 

No registrations will be accepted before the opening date and time.

If you are unable to register yourself, have a colleague register in their own name (the system does not allow registering others and your colleague also must have a User Account) and have them send a notice with your name and contact information to Email.
