LibraryLinkNJ subsidizes the cost of each class to make high-quality, low-cost training available to staff of member libraries. Please pay registration fees promptly when requested.

Cancellation Policy: You may cancel up to ten 10 business days before a scheduled class/event without penalty and receive a credit for another class or a full refund. If you cancel less than ten days before, you are responsible for payment. The only exception is if LibraryLinkNJ cancels the class/event.

LibraryLinkNJ reserves the right to cancel any class/event that is less than 60% full within 7 business days of the class. If LibraryLinkNJ cancels a class, you will receive a credit toward another class or a full refund.

In the event of a class cancellation, we will make every attempt to notify you directly at least 48 hours in advance. Class/event cancellations due to snow or severe weather conditions will be listed on our main page. You may also call LibraryLinkNJ at 732-752-7720 after 7AM on the day of the class.

Super Library Supervisor

Registration for the Super Library Supervisor Workshop Fall 2022 Series (FY23) will open at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, July 26.

This series of training workshops in supervisory skills has been serving the New Jersey library community for more than 20 years. This fall, our workshop series will return to an in-person format for the first time since 2019!

*Our virtual option will return in Spring 2023.*

Series Topics and Dates:

  • Thursday, October 6th, 9:30AM - 3:30PM
    • What it Means to be a Supervisor
    • Know Your Why: Motivating and Supporting Your Staff
  • Thursday, October 13th, 9:30AM - 3:30PM
    • HR Basics Every Supervisor Should Know
    • Building Relationships & Resolving Staff Conflict
  • Thursday, October 20th, 9:30AM - 3:30PM
    • Personnel Documentation & Evaluation
    • Defining Your Mission and Setting Goals
  • Wednesday, October 26th, 9:30AM - 3:30PM
    • Open & Honest Communication in the Workplace
    • Running Successful Meetings

All sessions will be held at Monroe Township Public Library (Middlesex County).

Target Audience:

  • Library staff who are currently supervisors and have less than five years of supervisory experience.
  • Participants MUST be actively working as a supervisor at the time the series begins.
  • More experienced supervisors are welcome, if this is their first supervisory training.

Registration Information

  • This is a series of 4 workshops. Participants are required to attend all 4 workshops and will be asked to indicate that they have the support of their employer before completing the registration process.
  • Space is limited to 35 participants. 
  • Registration will close on Friday, August 12th. 
  • If the registration numbers exceed capacity, 35 participants will be chosen via a lottery system.

Cost: $329, inclusive of all available course materials, continental breakfasts and lunches for all 4 sessions.
