Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning: this set of terms doesn't come close to capturing the diversity of teens who are marginalized because of their gender and/or sexual orientation. In this workshop, we will discuss the many and varied needs of LGBTQ teens, suggest resources that libraries can provide for this population, and strategize ways to create supportive, respectful spaces and communities for LGBTQ teens in libraries.

After Attending this Webinar, Participants Will Be Able To:

  • Recognize a broad range of experiences among LGBTQ teens
  • Identify common information needs of LGBTQ teens
  • Develop strategies for supporting LGBTQ teens' safety and well-being in library spaces
