Libraries Transforming Communities

Join us to learn how libraries are using their unique and trusted positions within communities to serve as spaces for dialogue and engagement. Samantha Oakley and Kaileen McGourty, both from the American Library Association, will share insight on how public libraries, in particular, can better engage with their communities. They will also shed insight on ALA's initiative, "Libraries Transforming Communities," which has provided public libraries opportunities to learn the skills of facilitating community conversations with help from the National Coalition for Dialogue and Deliberation.

Panelists include:

  • Samantha Oakley, Project Director, American Library Association
  • Kaileen McGourty, Program Coordinator, American Library Association
  • Courtney Breese, Executive Director, National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation

Moderator Stephanie Sendaula is Programming and Outreach Specialist at LibraryLinkNJ.
