PT Library Assistant – Patron Services  

  • $20.00/hour, 19 hours/week
  • Anticipated schedule: Thursdays 9am-2pm, Fridays 9am-5pm, Saturdays 9am-5pm
  • Love working with the public and connecting with people of all ages? The Avalon Library & History Center is seeking a customer service-focused and tech savvy individual to join its Patron Services team as a part-time assistant. In this role, responsibilities include helping patrons at the circulation desk and with computers and mobile devices. Other duties, including shelving and occasional outreach engagement can be expected. Library use can vary throughout the year and the successful candidate will appreciate the steady off-season atmosphere, as well as a very active summer season.  
  • Who are we looking for? We’re looking for a team player, looking for part time employment, who enjoys the connection that comes from working as part of a team tasked with serving the public. They should possess the communication and technology skills required to connect with patrons onsite and online and be comfortable with varying levels of foot traffic. Customer service and/or teaching experience, required. Experience working in a public library, preferred.
