Introducing Juliet Machie, Interim Director, LibraryLinkNJ

Starting on December 10, 2019, Juliet Machie will be the Interim Director of LibraryLinkNJ.

Juliet Machie has over 25 years of library leadership and management experiences. She is presently the CEO of JMAC & Associates, a management consulting firm that is focused on helping organizations achieve their purpose. Juliet previously served as Deputy Director at the Detroit Public Library and the Detroit Library Cooperative. She has also taught as an adjunct in library schools. Juliet’s library career spans public, academic and special libraries. She has worked in almost all areas of library services, to include: circulation, reference, technical, children’s and young adult services. Juliet most recently earned a doctorate degree in organizational leadership and has devoted the last few years in helping organizations to articulate strategies for improved performance.

In her own words: “I am truly excited to join the LLNJ team during this interim leadership transition period. I commend the exemplary work that Kathy and the LLNJ board and staff have done. I look forward to working with the team on the journey to articulate an exciting next chapter for the cooperative.“

She is well suited to help the Board and staff maintain the important work that LLNJ provides the NJ Library community and assist us as we define our future. Kathy Schalk-Greene has been a tremendous asset to LLNJ as our Executive Director providing guidance, leadership and connection to New Jersey’s libraries. We congratulate her on her upcoming retirement and wish her the very best. We are very thankful that Kathy will stay on through mid-January to orient Juliet and assist with this transition.”
