Skill-Sharing Conversation: Library Reclassification Projects
Event Description
Topic: Skill-Sharing Conversation: Library Reclassification Projects
The work needed to move our libraries sustainably forward is vital, but may feel daunting. This includes efforts to improve the inclusivity in how we describe and classify our collections. Join us as we hear from librarians who have managed reclassification projects in both a Dewey-based public library and LC-based academic libraries. We will share experiences implementing manageable changes that aim to address the biases inherent in standard library classification systems.
Come ready to share with and learn from your library colleagues across the state as we share ideas and advice on reclassification projects. All are welcome!
