About Me

I started my library journey in 2020, by contacting local librarians and workers on their experiences. I became so inspired by their work enough to join the New Jersey Library Association as a member, gaining a leadership position as the Diversity and Outreach section’s Secretary for the past 2 years. I am also the intern for the NJLA Library Workers of Color.

I am currently I am also a 2022 ALA Spectrum Scholar, which gave me the opportunity to begin graduate school at Rutgers University’s Master of Information program. I am in my second semester of graduate school, focusing on Library and Information Science. My primary objectives are on Young Adult Services, Adult Services, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives.

My past work experiences include library associate for North Brunswick Public Library, from 2020 to 2021.

When I am not studying, I am a writer, published author and blogger. Writing has always been a passion for me, and I’ve been doing it since I was a child. Writing poetry, blogs, editorial writing, and social media campaigns are my expertise. I published my first book, Reality Check, on April 14, 2022. My blog is www.PoetryBooksYA.com
