Giving and Receiving Feedback
Online via Zoom
Event Description

Regardless of our role at work, giving and receiving feedback can be difficult. We might
know what feedback we would like to give, but how much of our own values or
insecurities rest in what we want to share? We might receive feedback that could benefit
us, but our ego shuts it down. The first step to both giving and receiving feedback is to
understand what it truly means to be self-aware. Without self-awareness, a person cannot
authentically provide feedback and cannot accurately receive feedback from others.
This training will take a closer look at self-awareness and will offer practical ways to both
give and receive feedback.
Program Goals
1. To understand that to effectively give or receive feedback, a person must be self-
aware
2. To define and recognize self-awareness
3. To provide practical strategies to give and receive feedback
About WorkWise Labs
For over 20 years, the owner of Work Wise Labs, Elissa Zylbershlag, M.Ed., has been an

Foundation and most recently for the State of New Jersey as the Director of Education
and Training at the Division on Civil Rights. She has been sought out as a diversity, equity
and inclusion specialist and to build departments from the ground up. In all her roles,
she has created successful programming and cohesive teams. But not without trial and
error. It is through these errors that Elissa has learned her most valuable lessons and now
shares them with her clients.
