You are invited to attend our FY2022 Fall Membership Meeting to learn more about LibraryLinkNJ’s programs and services, our recent accomplishments, and our future plans.

We are excited to have John Chrastka from EveryLibrary kick off the meeting as our keynote speaker to talk about moving “From Advocacy to Activism.” John’s presentation is sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association, the New Jersey Association of School Librarians, and LibraryLinkNJ.

Our membership meeting is open to all member library staff, but space is limited and you must register. You don’t need to be a Voting Representative to attend.

The meeting will be recorded and will be made available for all LLNJ members to view.

Membership Meeting Documents:

Note: VOTING REPRESENTATIVES

  • Your vote is essential for the business meeting.
  • Because the meeting is virtual, we will not be able to accommodate proxy voting.
  • We should have you listed as the Voting Representative for your library. You can double check by going to the Voting Representative List.
  • Please complete the Voting Representative Update Form (user login required), if the information for your library needs to be updated.

Special Program:
From Advocacy to Activism

As we face ongoing budget challenges at all levels of government, a new kind of advocacy approach is key in building support among elected and other officials who control your finances. That starts with understanding the theories behind both advocacy and activism. This session will explore strategies and tactics used by some of the best community organizers, political action committees, and politicians. We will emphasize the resources and skills that Librarians and Library staff need to develop if they want to have the political and community support needed to increase funding.

John Chrastka

John Chrastka is co-founder and executive director of EveryLibrary, the only national political action committee for libraries, and the EveryLibrary Institute, a public policy and tax policy think tank for libraries. Since 2012, EveryLibrary has supported public libraries in numerous funding negotiations with elected officials and on 220 election days to help to secure over $1.8 billion dollars in stable tax money for libraries. The EveryLibrary Institute publishes funding-focused research and recently hosted the Library Advocacy and Funding Conference as a key part of its training agenda.

This program is co-sponsored by
