LLNJ Skill Sharing Conversation

Topic: Skill-Sharing Conversation: Cataloging Graphic Novels

"Comics cataloging can be complicated," according to the American Library Association. "Libraries serve both community constituencies (public) and highly selective constituencies (school or special libraries) using various discovery platforms."

"These differing audiences and library systems, as well as differing levels of library staff training and resources, can lead to variations in cataloging levels for comics, in both depth and breadth of metadata recorded." With this in mind, it can be difficult for library staff to know how to get started.

In this follow-up to a Skill-Sharing Conversation on Library Reclassification Projects, join us as we hear from library staff who have who had success cataloging graphic novel collections across genres. Come ready to share with and learn from your library colleagues across the state as we share ideas and advice on cataloging graphic novels. All are welcome!
