Description: It is great to share our accomplishments with colleagues, but we can learn a lot from each other's mistakes, too. Let's discuss our library mishaps, and how we can turn them into positive experiences!

Agenda:

Introductions

How to Recover When Things Don't Go as Planned
  • How do you set expectations for upcoming programs/services?
  • What is the evaluation/assessment process after a program?
  • What do you do if a program doesn't turn out as planned?
  • When do you fine-tune, or just decide not to offer it again?
  • How do you create a safe atmosphere where it is okay to try new things even if they might fail?
Open discussion in Breakout Rooms
  • What "failures" have you experienced at work? Were they during a program, the implementation of a new project, or part of your day-to-day job?
  • How did you overcome the issue?
  • Did you learn anything from it?  Did it end up turning into a positive experience?

Closing Discussion
