Event Description

LLNJ Skill Sharing Conversation

Topic: Managing University Archives & Special Collections

The field of academic archives is more expansive and complex than ever before. The archives serve as the institutional memory of the college or university and play a vital role in the management of the institution's evidentiary documents and resources in all formats. In addition to college and university archives, academic archives also include records management programs, special collections departments, and other campus archival repositories.

Join us if you're interested in starting an archives program, looking to update an existing archives program, are hoping to begin a career in academic archives, or would like to remain current on recent developments.

Learn from library colleagues across the state as we share best practices for university archives and special collections, and showcase all that archives and special collections have to offer. All are welcome!

Moderator: Deb Schiff, The College of New Jersey

Date & Time: Thursday, January 16th, 2025, 11AM-12PM
