Growing Healthy Teens: Programming and Partnerships

New!

Growing up can be tough and schools have a strong role to play in helping teens on their path towards adulthood. Collaborations between Teachers and Library Media Specialists can be the key partnership that your school needs to grow lifelong learners. We can be strong teen advocates by providing students with tools and experiences that will help them become successful and happy adults.

After this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Implement the Developmental Assets framework defined by the Search Institute (http://www.search-institute.org/developmental-assets) to improve library programming for teens;
  • Develop a personal script to advocate for teen empowerment programs;
  • Formulate and develop an action plan for collaboration between teachers and media specialists
  • Identify potential community organizations to forge inter-agency partnerships.
