Instructor/Presenter Bio

Kiera Parrott is the Head of Children’s Services at Darien Library (CT). She spends her days planning storytimes, playing with new technology, sweeping up spilt glitter, uniting kids with great books, learning silly new fingerplays, booktalking, cleaning up more glitter, weeding crusty old books, ordering shiny new books, making book lists, visiting local schools, trying to get that stuff (what is it? glitter glue??) off the chairs, and chatting with kids, parents, and caregivers about everything from potty training to eBooks. Kiera is the creator of Spectrum Storytime, a sensory-based program for children with autism and is a member of the 2013 Caldecott Committee. In her spare time, Kiera enjoys watching bad movies, singing karaoke, and practicing American Sign Language. She can be found on Twitter @libraryvoice.
