We will cover how to identify your key skills, how to organize your job search, and tips for writing resumes and cover letters. Whether you’re a new MLS grad looking for a first librarian job or a career librarian looking to make a change, this program is for you.

1:30 - 3:15 pm It can be tough (if you finally get out of your library) to meet new people, even when working a profession that is rich in idea sharing. It can be tougher to find ways to maintain relationships that can be harnessed to increase your professional scope. We will give you our best tips and tricks to meet your networking goals. By the time our session is done, you’ll be sashaying out the doors with your business card in hand, waving to anyone who has idea sharing potential (... or maybe that will just be us).

Morgan Taylor is the Head of Adult Services at Princeton Public Library. She's an active member of NJLA, was an Emerging Leader in 2017, and has served on several NJLA and BCCLS committees. Morgan seizes any opportunity to network with fellow librarians, especially over a cup of tea. Erin Hughes is the Children's Librarian at the Carlstadt Public Library. She's big on networking, has been on BCCLS committees, and is a two time NJLA speaker with her BFF, Morgan Taylor. Erin is a huge fan of crafts, cats, and talking about Star Trek. She really loves asking strangers if they have a library card, and runs primarily on a high octane mix of caffeine, memes, and positivity.
