Summary: The Parsippany Library seeks a part-time Marketing & PR Coordinator to join the Administration department at the Main Library. This position will create marketing and social media content to highlight and promote library programs, events and services, and strengthen the library’s position as an essential community center.
About the Library: The Parsippany Library serves a population of 56,000 with a Main Library and two branches. Located in Morris County, NJ, Parsippany is a vibrant and diverse community which has often been recognized as one of the best places to live in the U.S.

Compensation: Depending on experience and includes paid sick, vacation, and holidays. Enrollment in the Defined Contribution Retirement Program (DCRP) if eligible.
Schedule: 16-20 hours per week, either 4 or 5 days per week. Exact schedule to be determined upon hiring.

Job Description: Marketing & PR Coordinator
Responsibilities
• Develop a marketing schedule including timelines and marketing plans for upcoming programs and events, and for new and existing library services.
• Create flyers, signage, digital infographics, and other necessary marketing collateral.
• Create and manage library digital newsletters and other marketing communications.
• Develop content for major social media platforms, and provide reports on activity and engagement.
• Write press releases to promote library programs and events at a variety of media outlets.
• Participates in committees that plan for our larger events.

• Graphic design expertise.
• Superior written communication skills.
• Ability to develop a marketing plan and strategy.
• Experience using social media in a professional setting.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in marketing or graphic design.
• Marketing experience.
• Graphic Design experience.
• Email distribution experience with Constant Contact.
• Proficiency using major social media apps in a professional setting.
• Proficiency in Google Drive and Microsoft Office software including Word, Docs, Excel, Sheets, PowerPoint and Slides.
