Part-Time Weekend Librarian
The Moorestown Public Library is seeking a dynamic librarian to join its team. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, have outstanding communication skills, and can answer various reference and reader’s advisory questions with enthusiasm.
Responsible for:
- Providing reference, reader’s advisory and computer assistance to children, teens, young adults, and adults
- Maintaining a tidy and welcoming environment in the library
- Set-up and clean-up of programming
- Assisting with merchandising and weeding the collection
Hours: 4-8 hours a week including Saturdays (10 am – 2 pm) and additional weekend hours, as needed.
Required qualifications: Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program. MLS students considered.
Compensation Range from $20.00 to 24.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Anticipated start date: October 1, 2024
Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
The position requires residency in the State of New Jersey. If the successful applicant is not a New Jersey resident, he or she must become a bona fide New Jersey resident within one year. Applicants from Moorestown will have first consideration.
