LibraryLinkNJ was a proud sponsor of this year's New Jersey Association of School Librarians (NJASL) Annual Conference, held December 3-5 at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City. NJASL's 2023 conference theme, "A World of Stories: a Celebration of Diversity in School Libraries" brought together a wide array of presenters, keynote speakers, and vendors for 3 days full of learning and growth.
The MentorNJ initiative was thrilled to be able to host the first-ever in-person MentorNJ School Libraries Meetup (pictured above), where school librarians and those who work closely with them gathered to discuss the challenges and successes of their year, as well as to lend support and share advice! Thanks to those who attended this lively discussion, and to Hoboken High School Librarian Michelle McGreivey for leading the conversation!
Our staff were also glad to be able to participate in a Lightning Talk session, where LLNJ's Online Learning and Digital Content Specialist, Jon Braun, took the opportunity to speak about the LibraryLinkNJ LearningSpace On-Demand Training Portal. Jon shared the progress we've made so far in launching the LearningSpace initiative and described our vision for the future of the LearningSpace as it relates to School LIbrarians in particular. We hope the Lightning Talk audience (pictured below) walked away feeling excited about the LearningSpace and all it has to offer!
And all the while, our Vendor Booth in the Exhibit Hall provided a great spot for conference attendees to stop by and meet our staff, learn about everything we offer, and have their questions about LibraryLinkNJ and MentorNJ answered! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat with us, and to our team members who staffed the booth. Pictured at the right are LLNJ team members Kimberly Sullivan-Gladwell and Stephanie Sendaula posing with the mascot of fellow exhibitor New Jersey City University.
Missed us at the Conference? Don't worry - you can learn everything a School Librarian needs to know about LibraryLinkNJ at the upcoming "LibraryLinkNJ: Your Professional Partner" event, hosted by NJASL's PD Committee. Join the online event Monday, December 11th at 7pm to hear all about what LLNJ can offer free of charge for school library staff state-wide.
Our thanks to the NJASL Conference Committee for planning such an incredible event, and for allowing us to be part of it!
