Part Time Community Library Services Librarian - Hunterdon County Library

The Hunterdon County Library (HCL) is seeking an energetic team-oriented candidate with a strong public service commitment to provide services in the Community Library Services Department.  This position provides service to the public including helping with computer questions (printing, faxing, scanning included), answering informational questions, providing readers advisory (in person, online), planning programs and creating service/informational materials.

The Hunterdon County Library System consists of two regional libraries, one small satellite library, a mobile bookmobile and ongoing support to six affiliated libraries within the County of Hunterdon. The library is also a member of the MAIN Library Alliance, a consortium of 49 public libraries.  The current staff consists of over 60 full and part-time employees. REQUIREMENTS:

  • A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.
  • Applicant must comply with the “NJ First Act.”
  • Appointee may be required to possess a valid driver's license - initial appointment provisional pending Civil Service procedure.
  • 19 hours/week, including some nights & weekends.

COMPENSATION

$30.78 per hour

Hunterdon County Library offers paid sick, vacation, personal and holiday leave.

SCHEDULE

  • Monday          5pm to 9pm
  • Tuesday          5pm to 9pm
  • Wednesday    5pm to 9pm
  • Saturday         9am to 5pm
