OPENING: Full-Time Librarian 1

DEPARTMENT: Youth Services/Children’s Department

POSITION SUMMARY: The Middletown Township Public Library is seeking a customer service oriented, enthusiastic, leader to join our dedicated staff. 

EDUCATION:

A Master's degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master's program in Library Science that 

has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State University.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Answering children’s reference & readers advisory questions
  • Collection development for ordering new books and weeding outdated books
  • Outreach to community organizations, school groups and general public
  • Assisting with and planning children’s library programs and events
  • Engage in professional development training, conferences and webinars
  • Cross training as needed
  • Must be a team player 
  • Other duties as required

COMPENSATION: 

CWA 1032 Contractual rate: $61,216.86/yearly

SCHEDULE: 

Full-Time - 35/Hrs. per Week, includes 1 weeknight (Wednesday 1:00pm-9:00pm) and 1 Saturday per month (9:00am-5:00pm)
