Position Title: Librarian 1, Hoboken Public Library, Information & Digital Services
Schedule: Salaried, full-time position (35 hours/week) including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service: Provide friendly, inclusive, and responsive service to a diverse range of library customers, ensuring access to materials, services, and programs.
- Support Library Programs & Supervision: Assist with programming, collection development & maintenance, technology support, and day-to-day operations, including supervising staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster Community Engagement: Actively engage with the community to promote library resources, services, and events that meet the needs of customers.
- Adapt and Collaborate: Work flexibly with staff and community partners, adapting to new technologies and changing library needs while contributing to a positive team environment.
- Location Flexibility: Candidates must demonstrate flexibility in working collaboratively across various departments and be willing to work at all library locations as needed.
Essential Abilities/Skills:
- Strong People Skills: A genuine passion for working with and helping people, with the ability to create positive interactions with a diverse range of customers.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication in person, over the phone, and via digital platforms.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, and digital tools. Willingness to learn new technology and adapt quickly.
- Team-Oriented: A collaborative mindset, with the ability to think outside the box and contribute creative, innovative ideas to enhance library services.
- Supervisory Skills: Some experience or ability to supervise part-time staff and volunteers, providing leadership and support to ensure effective operations.
- Solution-Oriented: A creative problem-solver who can think on their feet and find innovative ways to meet customer and library needs.

Preferred Skills:
Fluency in a language other than English, especially Spanish.
Qualifications:
Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent from an ALA accredited university
The position will require flexibility in terms of placement and availability, with rotating weekend and/or evening shifts.
