Staying silent in the face of demeaning comments, stereotypes or bias allows these attitudes and behaviors to thrive. This undermines our ability to create an inclusive workplace where all employees are welcomed, treated with respect and able to do their best work. Yet, most employees and leaders who want to speak up don't know how. So, we say nothing. Borrowing Guidelines

Please read all of the following information before you request any videos. This will help everyone handle the loan process efficiently.

  1. The training videos are available to the member libraries of LibraryLinkNJ – The New Jersey Library Cooperative.
  2. Training videos are for use by library staff, library governing boards or other library/school administration personnel only. They may not be used or shown by any other government entity or to the public, nor can any fee be charged to view the videos. These requirements are part of the vendor licensing agreements.
  3. Training DVDs can be borrowed up to 14 days. The lending date is the date we ship it out and your return date is the day it is due back in the office. If your return date is a holiday or a weekend, please make sure that you return the borrowed items before your loan period expires. For example, if we ship a video on a Monday, you will have to return it by the Friday in the following week. Extended loan periods may be possible. If you want to extend your loan period, please call the LibraryLinkNJ office at least 3 days before the loan period expires.
  4. Up to 2 videos can be borrowed at one time.
  5. A two week lead time for requests is required.  Requests must be made at least 2 weeks before the date video(s) will be shipped.
  6. Requests can be made up to 6 months in advance. If you are planning a special staff development event, we will try our best to accommodate your situation, so please be sure to ask!
  7. Each video comes with an evaluation form. Please be sure to fill in the evaluation form and return it with the video so we can get your feedback.
  8. Videos are checked out and shipped to a specific contact person at the library. That person is responsible for the safe receipt, storage and return of the items.
  9. Liabilities for damaged or stolen items:
  • Please handle all borrowed videos and any accompanying instruction or support materials carefully and store them securely while they are at your library.
  • If there is a problem with any video, please contact the LibraryLinkNJ office (732-752-7720) as soon as possible.
  • During the loan period, the library is responsible for all borrowed items. Training videos are expensive, ranging in cost from $100 to $700 each. If any item is severely damaged or stolen during the loan period, it is viewed as negligence on the part of the library and the library will be responsible for 100% of the replacement cost.

Shipping and Return Procedure

  • LibraryLinkNJ ships training DVDs via USPS or another insured, documented courier to ensure a safe and protected arrival to the library.
  • LibraryLinkNJ pays for the cost of shipping to the library.
  • Borrowing libraries are NOT allowed to return items through Dynamex’s delivery service.
  • Borrowing libraries must return the items through USPS, FedEx, UPS or another established, reliable courier service.  Whichever is chosen, the library must insure the contents and the courier service must track the package.
  • Borrowing libraries are required to pay the shipping fee for the return of the item(s) back to the LibraryLinkNJ office.
  • If you prefer, training DVDs can be picked up or returned in person by appointment. You still need to arrange the loan ahead of time and you also must call the office and arrange for a time.
  • In the online reservation form, fill in the date you want the video(s) shipped to you, and also fill in a return date. Factor in that it takes about 2-3 days for the shipped package to arrive at your library. Your return date should be within 14 days after the lending/shipping date. This is the date the video(s) is due back in the LibraryLinkNJ Office. Please pay close attention to the return date and call us if there is any type of delay.  Another library may be waiting to borrow the same video(s).
