Operations Associate | Bridgewater Branch | Somerset County Library System of NJ (Anticipated start date June 15, 2026)

Essential Functions of the Job: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating and performing SCLSNJ technology purchasing, including a wide variety of hardware and software tools and services; providing instruction and training on using Library technology; responding to Help Desk tickets; participating in training, development, and continuing education activities; supporting other technology staff and processes; and performing other library-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor. This position includes consistently providing exemplary customer service and support to both internal customers (staff) and external customers (vendors) regularly. 

Reports to: IT Manager   | Full-time, Non-Exempt | Onsite | Location: Bridgewater, NJ - Operations - IT Department

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, and two years of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities; attention to detail; must reside in the of the State of New Jersey within one year of employment unless exempted by law; reliable transportation to attend training, meetings, or other assigned duties at other branches or off-site locations as required.

Physical Demands: Reading materials and providing verbal assistance to library users in English; manual dexterity to handle equipment, books, software, and a variety of media formats; intermittent sitting, standing, and walking; frequent bending, reaching, and stooping, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 35 lbs.; pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 100 lbs.; distinguishing sounds at various frequencies and volumes; distance vision sufficient to distinguish people or objects under a variety of light conditions; vision sufficient to view computer screens, asset tags, serial numbers, and other fine print under a variety of light conditions.

Work Conditions & Schedule: Since the library is open on days and evenings, the schedule may vary, including Saturday rotation and some Sundays and holidays; the schedule is subject to change with or without advanced notice.

Please note that this is not a remote, temporary, or seasonal position.
