Heather Lasher started her MI degree at Rutgers University in January 2024 as a non-traditional student after a 25+ year career in technology. Currently, she is a Library Associate at Piscataway Public Library, where she works in the Adult Services Department. She loves creating programs that help people learn and connect, whether it’s through exploring new (or old) tech, setting goals, or focusing on self-care. With a background in tech and education, she's always looking for ways to make learning accessible and fun for everyone.
In her role, Heather has led programs on everything from budgeting with Excel to job search tips and New Year’s goal setting. She's especially excited about using AI, like ChatGPT, to bring new tools and resources to the library’s patrons.
When she's not at the library, Heather enjoys traveling and looks forward to exploring her 7th continent in 2025. She also tried to stay active in her community and is always looking for new ways to grow and connect with others.
