Romance Readers' Advisory

LibraryLinkNJ is proud to offer the next webinar in our series on genre reader's advisory, following a successful program on Horror Readers' Advisory in September 2022. By popular demand, we are highlighting romance, one of the best-selling genres over the past several years. In recent years, romance made up 23% of the overall US fiction market, second only to general fiction. With several subgenres, from contemporary to historical, it can be difficult to know how to get started promoting this diverse genre to your community. Come learn why readers love romance and how can you promote it all year long.

About the Presenter:

Robin Bradford, 2018 Library Journal Mover & Shaker, and 2016 RWA Cathie Linz Librarian of the Year, works for the Pierce County Library System in Washington State. She has hit almost all the reading-related degrees (BA & MA in English, MS in Library Science, and a JD) but has found a permanent home in building reader-focused popular collections in public libraries. She has worked with authors to help get their titles into these collections, worked with librarians to push for equal treatment of genre fiction, and worked with readers so that they can find their favorite authors on their library’s shelves. She is author of the The Readers' Advisory Guide to Romance, published in 2023 from ALA Editions.
