"Customer Service Signs for Librarians" consists of three 45-minute trainings taught by an experienced ASL instructor. LibraryLinkNJ is please to sponsor this training four times throughout 2023.

  • Training #1: Tuesdays February 14th, 21st, 28th — 10am-10:45am
  • Training #2: Tuesdays April 4th, 11th, 18th — 10am-10:45am
  • Training #3: Tuesdays July 11th, 18th, 25th — 10am-10:45am
  • Training #4: Tuesdays October 10th, 17th, 24th —10am-10:45am

*By registering, you are making a commitment to attend all three courses in each training. Sessions will not be recorded.

Over the course of this training, you will learn:

  • How to greet a person in ASL
  • How to ask if someone needs assistance
  • How to tell where to find the restroom
  • How to ask specific questions about library cards and checking out books

Included are interactive handouts featuring all the signs learned during the training, along with video tutorials allowing attendees to continue learning after the training is concluded.

Registration for each three-week training is limited to 15 participants. A waitlist will be offered for each training; however, waitlisted registrants will not be automatically enrolled or given priority enrollment for additional training dates.
