About Me

Hello! I’ve been at the Wayne Public Library since 2003. First in the Circulation Department. I received my MLIS in 2008 while working f/t in Circulation. Though I moved into the Children’s Department in 2012, and was the Young Adult person doing programming and collection development, I finally got a Librarian position in the Reference Department in 2016. I took over Interlibrary Loans while adjusting to the adult reference public service desk. There was no manual or policy set in writing, nor steps within the different aspects of ILL entails, to follow. I have since developed one for myself or anyone else to follow if necessary (as it applies to our library). Last year I was fortunate to be selected as the 2017 winners of the Atlas Systems Mentoring Awards, administered by the STARS section of RUSA and sponsored by Atlas Systems. That allowed me to attend the ALA Annual Conference and partake in different Resource Sharing events. Though the overall experience was invaluable, there was no ‘Public Library I.L.L.’ type support or group. This past year of LibraryLinkNJ’s delivery transitions and issues, brought more attention to the importance of ILL, as well as how organization is vital for the lifecycle of each item borrowed and lent. I would welcome anyone who would like to learn the nuances of the Public Library ILL system, as I have come to and through it. I work with both JerseyCat and OCLC WorldShare.
