About Me

My name is Lanora. I have been a Youth Services Librarian since 2011. I worked briefly as a part-time library assistant for Camp Marcella which is a blind and visually impaired camp in 2004. For the summer, I had to conduct programs and computer lessons for children with visual impairments and multiple disabilities. I also taught children how to use JAWS. I am currently the Head of Children's Services at the Scotch Plains Public Library.

From 2005-2009, I worked as a substitute teacher for the Edison School District primarily with special needs children. I hold a K-12 teaching certification in English Literature. In 2009, I began working as a circulation and reference assistant; and in 2010, I was a part-time children's librarian.

I have spoken at various events about technology programs, STEM programming, anime and graphic novels. I was a mentor for ALA New Members.

I am looking forward to hearing from you!
