My name is Melody Scagnelli-Townley and I am the Library Director at Bayonne Public Library. Before becoming the Director, I spent seven months as the Interim Director. Before that, I was the Outreach Librarian for 3.5 years. I'm a former American Library Association Emerging Leader, two-time former Over the Rainbow Book List selection committee member, and former Alex Award selection committee member. I am the current Vice President of the New Jersey Library Association’s Urban Libraries section and the President Elect for 2024-2025. At home, I'm a mom to my 3.5 year old toddler who teaches me new things every day, a partner to my husband who supports me in everything I do, and a loving caretaker to my two cats and one senior dog who mostly cause trouble. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, charcuterie board making, cocktail mixing, reading, and playing lots of video games.
