LLNJ Skill Sharing Conversation

Topic: Skill-Sharing Conversation: Bringing Comic Con to the Library

Comic book conventions have seen a surge in popularity in recent years. At the same time, graphic novels remain one of the most in-demand genres in libraries of all types. "It's no surprise, then, that comics-themed events at libraries are drawing crowds," according to Publisher’s Weekly. "Besides being a grand old time, comic cons benefit libraries by bringing in new readers and showcasing particularly strong graphic novel collections."

Are you interested in throwing a Comic Con at your library, but are unsure where to start? Then this Zoom skill-sharing conversation is for you! Come ready to share with and learn from your library colleagues across the state as we share advice on creating and maintaining a genealogy collection in your library.

Moderators:

  • Marissa Lieberman, Head of Reference Services, Cranford Public Library
  • Matthew Latham, Director, Ramsey Free Public Library
  • Lizzie Latham, Head of Children's Services, Lake Hiawatha Branch, Parsippany Public Library
