Target Audience

Any library staff who are interested in implementing their library site in Drupal. No Drupal experience or programming skills required. This is designed primarily for libraries and may not be suitable for individuals wanting to learn Drupal skills.

Descriptions

This four part webinar series is an in-depth course on how to manage content and administer the Sample Drupal Library Website that LibraryLinkNJ created for our member libraries. LibraryLinkNJ member libraries are eligible to download this sample site at no cost, and can modify/customize the sample site for their own library at their own pace. LibraryLinkNJ has made some improvements on the sample site.  Please find more information about our Drupal Sample Website for Libraries.  

The series will consist of 4 live online sessions: Three days of 3-hour training sessions, each with two hours of training and a final hours for Q&A, and a follow-up 90-minute session for any questions that might come up after the first three sessions and you start working on your site.

(Due to the October 22 session cancellation, November 12 session has been rescheduled from 1:00-2:30 pm to 1:00-4:00 pm and November 19 session is added.)

Among other topics, participants will learn:

  • How to install the site on a hosting server (particularly on Jersey Connect*)
  • Modify the design
  • Add and edit content on the site
  • Work with media (video, images, etc)
  • Integrate the site with your library's social media accounts
  • Manage content blocks, the navigation menu and more
  • Add/manage users
  • Do security updates
  • And everything else you need to feel comfortable managing the site for your library

Notes

Cancellation Policy:

You may cancel up to ten 10 business days before a scheduled class/event (The series starts on October 22) without penalty and receive a credit for another class or a full-refund. If you cancel less than ten days before, you are responsible for payment. The only exception is if LibraryLinkNJ cancels the class/event.

LibraryLinkNJ reserves the right to cancel any class/event that is less than 60% full within 7 business days of the class. If LibraryLinkNJ cancels a class, you will receive a credit toward another class or a full refund. In the event of a class cancellation, we will make every attempt to notify you directly at least 48 hours in advance.

Class/event cancellations due to snow or severe weather conditions will be listed on our main page.

You may also call LibraryLinkNJ at 732-752-7720 or 866-505-5465 (LINK) after 7AM on the day of the class. A staff member or pre-recorded message will inform you if any classes/events have been cancelled due to weather conditions.

The registration will be open until it is filled on a first come, first served basis.  Since this series is primarily designed for libraries rather than individuals, we may need to limit the number of participants per library if we have many people on the wait list.
