Descriptions

Mobile computing has exploded around the world over the past several years and there are many exciting mobile technologies that libraries can capitalize on to market and highlight their collections, provide reference assistance and instruction, and simply make their collections and services more accessible to patrons wherever they are.

This session will explore trends in mobile usage and mobile technologies relevant to libraries and look at some of the ways that libraries and other cultural heritage organizations are using mobile technologies to provide services. We will also examine how libraries can determine which mobile technologies and services are the best fit for their library and the communities they serve.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Explore current and emerging trends in mobile usage and technologies
  • Analyze potential and already existing library uses of mobile technologies
  • Determine which mobile applications or services might be appropriate for their library
