PT Tech Desk Assistant 
The Plainfield Public Library is looking for a Part-Time Tech Desk Assistant with excellent technology and customer service skills. This position requires intermediate to advanced consumer computer skills including proficiency with email, using web applications, Microsoft Office, file management using Windows and general troubleshooting of technical issues as they arise.

The selected candidate will assist Library Patrons to use library-provided computers and Patrons’ own computers using the library’s free WiFi networks. Tasks include assisting Patrons with email, filling forms and applications, printing, saving and general computer-based tasks. The selected candidate will also assist Patrons to use the Library printers, photocopiers, scanners and fax machine.

The position will also require the employee to briefly count inquiries and services by performing data entry into statistical software.

The employee is also jointly responsible for maintaining an appropriate environment for patrons in Library, taking measures to apply the library’s behavior policies when appropriate, supported by other available library staff.

This is a 20-hour-per-week part-time position, in-person at the Plainfield Public Library. The schedule is Monday - Friday, 1-5pm. 
 

Required:

Excellent customer service skills
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
High-level proficiency with Microsoft Office
Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support for computer users
Attention to detail and good record-keeping abilities
Highly reliable and punctual.

Desirable experience, skills & attributes include:
Experience w/ instruction/training (preferably using digital resources.)
Bilingual (Spanish/English) desirable but not required
