The Washington Township Public Library is seeking an innovative, tech-savvy, and highly motivated Technical Services & Technology Librarian to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative professional who enjoys combining technology, organization, and public service to create exceptional library experiences for the residents of beautiful Long Valley, New Jersey.
As a key member of our small, supportive staff, you'll play a vital role in managing the library's technology infrastructure, maintaining our collections, and helping ensure our community has seamless access to the resources they need.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the acquisition, cataloging, processing, and inventory of library materials.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting computer hardware, software, and network issues.
- Leading and maintaining the library's automation services, technology initiatives, and network infrastructure.
- Maintaining and enhancing the library's website.
- Preparing and running statistical, operational, and collection reports to support library planning, decision-making, and state reporting requirements.
- Collaborating with staff to identify and implement technology solutions that improve library services and operations.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is an organized problem-solver with strong technical skills, a passion for libraries, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Required Qualifications:
- MLS or MLIS from an ALA-accredited institution.
- New Jersey Professional Librarian Certificate.
- Minimum of five years of relevant library experience.
- Experience with Koha, WordPress, and Google Workspace.
- Demonstrated expertise in computer hardware, software, networking, and library technologies.
Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week professional position, which includes day, evening and weekend hours. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The position also offers an excellent benefits package.
