Horror Writers Association

A recent poll of thousands of library workers identified horror as one of the Top 5 genres they were "most scared of"—Yet the genre is basking in a popularity that hasn't been seen in decades.

With the Spooky Season just on the horizon, Horror Writers Association's Library Committee Co-Chairs Becky Spratford and Konrad Stump want to help you get ready. Come learn from them about why readers love horror, how you can promote it all year long, and how HWA can be there to help you every step of the way.

About the Presenters:

Becky Spratford is a librarian and New Jersey native now living in Illinois. She runs the critically acclaimed RA training blog RA for All. Known for her horror column for Library Journal, Becky is also the author of The Reader’s Advisory Guide to Horror, Third Edition (ALA Editions). She is a proud member of the Horror Writers Association, and currently serves as organizer of their annual Librarians' Day.

Konrad Stump is a Local History Associate for the Springfield-Greene County (MO) Library, where he co-coordinates the library’s popular "Oh, the Horror!" series, and created the Donuts & Death horror book group, featured in Book Club Reboot: 71 Creative Twists (ALA Editions). He is the Horror Writers Association Library Committee Co-Chair, and co-coordinates StokerCon’s Librarians’ Day and the HWA’s Summer Scares program.
