About Me

Hello! My name is Lorelle and I am a Teen Services Librarian at the Ocean County Library. I have a passion for serving teens, and would love to connect with you about ways to better serve teens at your library. On a typical day, you will find me running teen programs (recent favorites: Hot Chocolate Bomb and Mug Making, and Candy Cane Sugar Scrub), creating seasonal decorations and passive programming for our Teen Zone to make it a welcoming space, and interacting with teens and offering special programming like pop-up video gaming during school lunch breaks. I also co-chair our library's Serving at-Risk Youth work group, overseeing staffing for weekly visits to our county's youth correction facility, liaising with staff and teachers at the center, and collection management for a special library collection housed within. I am also a mentor to new Teen Services staff across our library system, supporting them as they take their first steps into Teen Librarianship. There is so much that I love about serving teens, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you'd like to connect!
